The standing charge covers various services, including the maintenance of Britain's energy network and infrastructure, meter readings, and energy transmission and distribution costs.  

How do 0p standing charge tariffs work? 

Tariffs with a 0p standing charge work like a standard contract. However, there is no daily standing charge on your bill. This means you only pay for the energy you use. Instead, the cost that would normally be your standing charge would be incorporated into your unit rate. This way, you still contribute to network maintenance while benefitting from a simpler billing process.

•  If your fixed-term contract is up for renewal and you agree to a 1, 2 or 3 year energy contract.

• Have an annual consumption of 5,000kWh or more.
