Valda Energy's business development team has continued to evolve and expand since 2019.  With their extensive experience, they focus on identifying new opportunities, forging strategic partnerships, and setting ambitious goals that propel the business forward. Committed to continuous development, the team leverages their insights to keep the business at the forefront of the industry as well as delivering exceptional value to our customers and stakeholders.

Focusing on business growth

The team possesses a diverse array of tools and resources to support the business growth and inspire their colleagues. They drive new initiatives, launch new products, and contribute to achieving our growth targets with clear direction and leadership. Though the team collaborate closely with the Commercial and Operations departments, the team values the importance of working across all areas of the business to ensure alignment and deliver a consistent approach.

Supporting our TPIs

Our business development team represents the face of Valda Energy to our Third-Party Intermediaries (TPIs). The team create, develop and nurture partnerships, understanding the needs of TPIs, and supporting them to deliver the best service possible.

At Valda, we prioritise our customers by working closely with our TPIs to ensure their needs are met. The team work to secure competitive prices for TPI customers, ensuring that every partnership we form is centred around providing great value and quality customer service.

Creating new opportunities

Another area of their role is that the team monitors industry developments and trends. They identify new opportunities that may be beneficial to our customers and the wider business, ensuring that they remain responsive and adaptive to the ever-changing business energy industry.

Meet the team

Mandip Nayee

Head of Business Development, Mandip Nayee, also known as “Manny”, has been at Valda Energy since 2023  and has enjoyed his journey so far. He has over 12 years of experience in business development, and he is excited to expand his knowledge within the business. He has a team of two Business Development Managers (BDMs), who support our TPIs on a daily basis.   

‘What sets us apart is that we closely collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) at Valda. This allows us to act quickly with key opportunities and drive changes within the channel that supports customer growth’.

Jackie Brant

Our longest serving Business Development Manager, Jackie Brant has been in her role for 3 years and her focus is on building relationships with TPIs and supporting them in promoting Valda’s unique products. She has over 13 years of experience within the energy industry. Jackie believes that ‘it’s going to be a busy year for Valda. There are lots of exciting projects being worked on that will further enhance our offering to SME businesses’.  

Emma Thomson

Our newest member of the team, Emma Thomson, has over 15 years of experience within the industry, with a specific focus on TPIs for 9 years. She brings a different perspective as she has worked with both supplier and TPIs, giving her a unique insight into the industry. Emma’s ambition is ‘to support all my TPI relationships, both current and new.  I’m really excited to have joined the team at Valda and look forward to playing a key part in their growth’.
