Moving In FAQs

Do I need to agree a contract with Valda if I move into a premises they supply?

When you are a new tenant in a property supplied by Valda, you will automatically be put on a deemed tariff, which are often more expensive rates. We recommend that you get in touch with us as soon as possible to agree a fixed term contract.

Will my new property have power when I move in?

In most cases yes. Valda will continue to supply power to your new property, but you will be put on a deemed tariff unless you have arranged a new fixed term contract for your business.

If the premises was previously disconnected because the old tenant has outstanding debts, then you will need to contact us to arrange reconnection.

Why do I need to provide an opening meter read?

If you have a traditional meter (non-smart), then we require a read when you first move into the premises. This is to ensure that we can provide you with an accurate first bill.

If you have a smart meter, then you won't need to provide an opening read, we will take this directly.

What documents are accepted when I'm moving into a Valda supplied premises?

If you are moving into a Valda supplied premises, we accept any of the following:

Fully signed Lease Agreement, Business Rates, Land Registry Documentation, or a HM Land Registry Property Title Register, Solicitor Letter.
